April 17, 2012Not your typical Mardi Gras…
You all know the traditions of Mardi Gras down in New Orleans. When Mardi Gras rolled around at Summerfield Utah Assisted Living on Thursday, February 23rd, most of those traditions were modified a bit so that all would enjoy the party. We tossed gold coins into fountains, voted for a king and queen, sported some awesome masks, and ate Benyas (a traditional New Orleans mini-pancake).
Every gold coin that makes it into the fountain you get to keep. Some residents became very rich in gold bubblegum coins…
The masks were a hit, everyone wants to hide their identity on Mardi Gras…
And we even crowned a King and Queen… two Queens actually.
