Every year at Summerfield’s Christmas party, Santa comes down from the North Pole for a special visit to our residents. While grandchildren and great-grandchildren enjoy sitting on Santa’s lap to tell him what they want for Christmas, the most amazing part of Santa’s visit is seeing the joy he spreads to our residents.
Christmas is a time to share feelings of joy, peace, and love with friends, family, and even strangers. Santa is a symbol of all this wonderful Christmas cheer, and you can see it each time a resident’s face lights up as they see Santa coming to say hello to them.
It’s very touching to hear the resident’s responses as Santa asks them what they want for Christmas. The resident’s years of life and experience have moved them beyond asking for trivial things. The things most important to our residents are to continue to have good health and enjoy time with their families. With a kind pat on the hand, Santa always tells the residents he will talk with mother nature to grant their requests.
We hope everyone will take the time to enjoy visiting with Santa at our Christmas party this next Monday, December 9th at 7:00pm. And a huge thank you to Santa for coming all the way down from the North Pole to share hope and joy with our residents!
Let us enjoy this Christmas season surrounded by our loved ones, and spreading Christmas cheer to all those around us because Santa Claus is coming to town.
